Winter Training Options

Skills Training with Coach Mis

Skills Training sessions are designed for young players to build a stronger base of foot skills.  The goal is to create an environment of fun while building the players’ confidence with the ball.  The players will be challenged both individually and in small group work.  The group will be limited to 20 players to assure a quality setting.  Players are asked to bring a soccer ball to every session.
Skills Trainings are conducted by Mis Mrak, the current Technical Director at Jr. Irish Soccer Club.  Mis has over thirty years of experience in youth soccer development across the state and is the current Head Womens' soccer  coach at Holy Cross College.  Mis holds a USSF A license as well as a National Youth License from the NSCAA.  Winter Lessons are open to any youth player regardless of club affiliation.

Advanced Technical Training 

Advanced Technical Training is designed to enhance the technical skill set of those players wishing to compete at the next level.  The training will be 60 minutes of intense technical training and small group play to apply the appropriate amount of defensive pressure.  Each group will be limited to 20 players to assure a quality setting.  Each player is asked to bring a soccer ball to each session.     
Advanced Technical Training is conducted by Ken Nuber, the current Director of Coaching at Jr. Irish Soccer Club.  Ken has twenty years of college coaching experience including five years as the assistant women's soccer coach at the University of Notre Dame as well as fourteen as the Head coach at the University of Saint Francis.  He is currently the Head Girls Coach at Marian High School.  Ken holds a USSF B license as well as the Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.  Winter Lessons are open to any youth player regardless of club affiliation.

College Prep Technical Training is designed to introduce the collegiate technical standards to those players wishing to compete at the next level.  The training will be 60 minutes of intense technical training and small group play to apply the appropriate amount of defensive pressure.  The group will be limited to 20 players to assure a quality setting.  Each player is asked to bring a soccer ball to each session.

Midwest Futsal Academy

The goal is to use futsal as a way to develop a players’ technical, tactical, physical and mental ability in a way that increases outdoor soccer performance.  A curriculum will be implemented progressively over the course of the program, emphasizing technical skills and tactical competence, as well as speed, agility, and balance.

We expect that players will see marked improvement in the following areas: ball control, attacking skills, movement off-the-ball, decision-making, passing, balance, athleticism, reflexes, and (for keepers especially) ball-handling, anticipation, playing the angles, challenges, and ball-distribution. Our staff is experienced in both Futsal and the Outdoor game, and provide the highest level of training for the game of Futsal.

Dates:        December 9, 16, January 6, 13, 20, and 27.

11 and under | 9:00am - 10:15am | Boys & Girls
12-15 | 10:15am - 11:30am | Boys
12-16 | 11:30am - 12:45pm | Girls
16-19 | 1:00pm - 2:15pm | Boys

Cost:          $90 for Jr. Irish players.  (regular price is $125)
