Jr. Irish player Anna Borkowski has been selected to represent Region 2 at the US Soccer's InterRegional event in Boca Raton Florida November 17 - 23, 2017. Anna is one of only three players from the state of Indiana selected and the only player at the 2003 age group.
"We are extremely proud of Anna for all of her hard work and dedication to the game" says Jr Irish Executive Director Ken Nuber. "She is a role model both on and off the field".
"Anna has this chance to play in a national competition is in large part a result of the great coaching and competition that she has encountered at Jr. Irish" John Borkowski states. "Her development as a player has come under the tutelage of a series of highly qualified Jr. Irish coaches over the last seven or eight years and through training and playing with dozens of wonderful teammates. The club has afforded her every imaginable opportunity to grow as a player, including year-round training, supplemental skills sessions, futsal, spring, fall and summer league play and tournaments, and unique club passing opportunities. It has just been a great investment.”

The Thanksgiving Interregional is set to take place Nov. 19-24 at Spanish River Athletic Park and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla. Participating teams will be comprised of elite players in the 2000-2004 age groups from each of the four US Youth Soccer Regions.
The event will feature more than 275 of the nation's top players selected from US Youth Soccer State Association and Regional level evaluations. At each event, players will attend scheduled training sessions and also compete in matches against each of the other regional teams.
The Thanksgiving Interregional annually attracts many college coaches, as well as several U.S. Soccer scouts. The talent on display from each team allows coaches and scouts to evaluate players in an environment similar to what they will face at the next level of play.
Historically, the US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional has featured many of the players who have gone on to represent the United States at the international level including players such as Alex Morgan, Sydney Leroux, Tobin Heath, Christen Press, Mallory Pugh and Crystal Dunn.
US Youth Soccer ODP is the original Olympic development program. With programs in all 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations, it is available to any player. US Youth Soccer ODP is the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League, as well as the majority of current and past national and youth national team members, as alumni.
